FAFSA delays got you down? Don’t sweat the “small” FAFSA snafu!
We know that waiting for FAFSA results can be a bit of a bummer, but don’t worry—like Yoda, The College Funding Coach has your back!
If you’re feeling the pinch because the financial aid offered isn’t quite cutting it, it’s time for you to start your Jedi training and appeal for more money. Here’s how you can do it with more spring in your step, or in the words of wise Master Yoda: “Do or do not, there is no try.”
“Money, Money, Money.”
Life’s a rollercoaster, and your finances might’ve also had a wild ride since you submitted the FAFSA. Job changes? Surprise bills? Change in the size of your family? Change in parent’s marital status? Gather that proof (aka supporting documents, required adjustment form – if any) and get ready to show ‘em what’s up.
The Appeal Hustle
Craft an appeal letter that gets straight to the point. Tell your story, drop the numbers (and docs), and let’s get you more dough!
Chat Up the Financial Aid Office
Ring up your school’s financial aid heroes and be direct and polite. Share your story, email, or directly hand over that snazzy letter, and let the magic happen.
Got another offer? Use it!
Try communicating with the admissions office (once you’ve been accepted) if there’s nothing the financial aid office can do.
Flaunt that sweet offer from another school. All’s fair in love and financial aid – may the best school win your heart (And your parent’s pocketbook)!
Stay on The Ball
Keep an eye out for a response, and don’t let your appeal get lost in the shuffle. Timing is everything!
Keep Calm and Appeal On…
Patience, young Padawan. These things take time, but persistence pays off!
Plan B, C, D…
If Plan A doesn’t pan out, no worries! There’s a whole alphabet of options waiting for you.
So, are you ready to “Do”? Get those papers in order, flash your winning smile, and let’s get you the funds to fuel your dreams. And remember, the early bird gets the financial aid worm!
P.S. Just in case you need inspiration…
