Frequently Asked Questions for Families

What is The College Funding Coach®?

The College Funding Coach® is a national organization that offers free workshops and resources to help families understand how to pay for college without sacrificing retirement. We’ve been helping parents since 2002.

Is this a sales presentation?

No. The workshops and resources are purely educational. There are no product pitches or sales. Families who want additional help can request a free consultation, but there’s no obligation.

Who teaches the workshops?

Our workshops are led by trained financial professionals who specialize in college funding strategies. Each coach is vetted, certified, and focused on educating—not selling.

What if our family won’t qualify for need-based financial aid?

Many of the families we help are in that exact situation. Our workshops include creative strategies for high-income or high-asset families who may not receive traditional financial aid.

Is this only for parents of high school students?

No! We offer guidance for parents of students from pre-K through 12th grade. The earlier families start planning, the more options they typically have.

Can we talk to someone one-on-one?

Yes. Any family can request a free, no-pressure consultation with a College Funding Coach® to review their specific situation.

Do you help with scholarships and loans too?

Yes. We cover the full range of funding options, including maximizing scholarships, understanding student loans, and appealing for more aid when appropriate.

How do I access the resources or sign up for a workshop?

You can find downloadable tools, calculators, and a list of upcoming workshops on our website: www.thecollegefundingcoach.org

What Our Hosts Are Saying!

"While we do a great job of getting out scholarship information, this fills in the missing link that scholars and parents often ask about....How do I pay for college?" - Bob B., College Relations Manager • Heritage Academy

"We appreciated the communication, knowledge, and level of care that was shown in helping us plan and advertise the event." -
Kate D., Direct of School Counseling • Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School

"Thank you! The amount of info you share with families is relevant and incerdibly in-depth condsidering the hour and a half time frame. Jimmy and Stacy's knowledge and tips are invaluable to any family with a child.. The fact that you offer these webinars for free is amazing!!" - Erin O., Director of School Counseling • Bishop Ireton

"This workshop dives head first into the nitty gritty of paying for college and offers a perspective and expertise that the counselors on my team and I simply don't have. I was taking notes for my own family's purposes and learned so many valuable things." - Kayla M., Counselor • Atlanta Classical Academy

"The workshop offers valuable information to parents/students and helps our families and empowers participants to take actionable steps to make college more affordable." - Kelley G., Principal • Franklin High School

"I would highly recommend any school to invite the College Funding Coach to speak. They are wonderful to work with and are advocates for anyone trying to afford college." - Charlotte G., College Advisor • Seton School

"I sincerely believe that the CFC team's knowledge of a narrow but increasingly important aspect of preparing for college allows qualified families to make evidence-based decisions that positively impact the outcome in an outcome-driven process: attending college/pursuing a college degree. If college is designed to better prepare a student for life beyond college, then students/families would be remiss to not do all they can to do so from a financial perspective as well." - Chris O., Director of School Counseling
