Alex Koury began her career with The College Funding Coach® in January of 2013. She serves as a Manager of Business Development and also has a key consulting role with several projects for our team. As an honors graduate from George Mason University—where she majored in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Conflict Analysis & Resolution—Alex originally set her sights on becoming a police negotiator. Combining her conflict-resolution skills with her love for animals, Alex began her career as a Deputy Animal Control Officer in Arlington, Virginia.
Alex soon realized her talents and personality were better suited for marketing and business development than law enforcement, so she charged full speed ahead into the business world. There, she excelled and rose through the ranks thanks to a unique combination of training, creativity, and out-of-the-box approaches to solving problems and overcoming obstacles. Over the next decade, she mastered a variety of marketing positions, including account executive for Six Flags Entertainment; Director of Marketing for MVLE, a Virginia-based NPO that helps disabled individuals; and Director of Business Development & Contracts for Service Disabled Veterans Business Association.
Over the course of her career, Alex worked with a variety of associations and small business owners seeking her guidance on how to grow their business. She thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of helping these up-and-coming entrepreneurs and—as a wife and mother of two—was also looking to better balance her career and home life. So, in 2012, Alex started Boundary Jumpers, a results-driven sales and marketing firm dedicated to helping small businesses grow and succeed. She’s been putting her expertise, experience, and passion for helping others achieve their goals to work for The College Funding Coach® since January of 2013, where she connects parents with The College Funding Coach® advisors to help them prepare for the challenges of saving for a child’s college education.
Alex works out of our Tyson’s Corner, Virginia office. She can be reached by phone at (703) 380-2539 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
