Why The College Funding Coach?

I chose to join The College Funding Coach® because this mission is personal to me.

I paid my own way through college while living independently and working multiple jobs. There were times when money was extremely tight and I wasn’t sure how I was going to cover all of my expenses. At different points, I even found myself sleeping on friends’ sofas while continuing to work and pursue my education.

I was fortunate to earn the Georgia HOPE Scholarship, which provided tremendous support. However, I lost the scholarship during my final eligibility evaluation, suddenly creating another financial challenge I had to overcome. Those experiences shaped the way I think about preparing for college and gave me firsthand insight into how financial stress can affect a student’s college experience.

The College Funding Coach® gives me the opportunity to help families prepare earlier, understand the resources available through financial aid, scholarships, grants, and thoughtful financial planning, and make informed decisions about how to pay for college. My goal is to help parents give their children the opportunity for an exceptional college experience without unnecessary financial stress following the student or family for years afterward.

A Little More About Lindsey

Background

Before entering financial services, Lindsey served as an Executive Vice President, leading sales teams and developing growth strategies for technology firms. His career has consistently centered on leadership, education, and helping people overcome challenges.

Lindsey also founded ELI Project, a nonprofit organization he led for 14 years. The organization now operates in Wales, United Kingdom, and Kenya, Africa, providing events and opportunities for children with special needs and disabilities. Through this work, Lindsey saw firsthand the unique financial challenges many of these families face and began offering financial literacy workshops specifically designed for parents of children with special needs.

Today, Lindsey brings that combination of leadership, financial education, and personal experience to his work as a Financial Advisor and Financial Coach with Freedom Wealth Coaching.

Community Involvement

Lindsey spent four years coaching youth league football and is an active member of the Marietta Business Association. His longstanding work with ELI Project has also allowed him to support children with special needs and their families both domestically and internationally.

When He’s Not Working

Lindsey lives in historic Marietta Square, just north of Atlanta, with his wife, Melanie, and their dog, Juliet. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with Melanie around Marietta Square, hiking Kennesaw Mountain, working out, watching football, and playing pickleball.
