Why The College Funding Coach?

Growing up, my family didn’t have a lot of money, but my parents made me one promise: wherever I wanted to attend college, they would find a way to make it happen. That promise changed the trajectory of my life and ultimately shaped the work I do today.

My career has always centered around education and helping people unlock opportunities. From college admissions preparation to teaching mathematics and coaching student-athletes, I’ve seen firsthand how access to information and guidance can transform outcomes. Later, while teaching financial literacy and supporting FAFSA initiatives across Colorado, I discovered how powerful financial education can be in helping families make confident decisions about their futures.

The College Funding Coach® represents the perfect combination of my professional experience and personal passion. I believe families deserve access to clear, actionable information about college planning, and I am committed to helping parents and students navigate one of the most important financial decisions they will ever make.

A Little More About Tory

Background

Tory began her career as a college preparation educator with a leading SAT preparation company before spending more than a decade as a middle and high school mathematics teacher and soccer coach. She later served as a Financial Literacy Specialist with the Colorado Department of Education, where she supported statewide initiatives to improve FAFSA completion rates and helped educators and families navigate the rollout of the redesigned FAFSA.

Today, Tory is a financial advisor and the founder of FemGen Wealth. Her practice focuses on helping women, families, and young athletes build financial confidence and create lasting generational wealth.

• Division I soccer player at the University of Pennsylvania
• Named Innovative Financial Educator of the Year in 2021 by Money Wi$er
• Led and supported statewide financial literacy and FAFSA education initiatives through the Colorado Department of Education

Community Involvement

Tory is a former board member of Economic Literacy Colorado and currently serves on the board of Colorado Ivy+ Women. She remains passionate about expanding financial education opportunities and supporting organizations that help individuals achieve greater financial confidence and independence.

When She’s Not Working

A fourth-generation Oregonian, Tory has deep roots in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys helping families throughout Oregon and Colorado. When she’s not working with clients or delivering workshops, she can often be found exploring the world. Having visited 49 states and 39 countries, she is always planning her next adventure. She also enjoys caring for her growing collection of houseplants and testing her competitive spirit on the golf course.

It’s my pleasure to introduce our presenter, Tory.

Tory brings a unique background in education, college preparation, and financial literacy. She began her career helping students prepare for college admissions and went on to spend more than a decade as a middle and high school mathematics teacher and coach.

She later served as a Financial Literacy Specialist with the Colorado Department of Education, where she supported statewide financial education and FAFSA initiatives, helping educators and families better understand the financial aid process.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and former Division I soccer player, Tory has seen both personally and professionally how access to the right information can open doors for students and families.

Today, she is passionate about helping parents understand their college funding options and make informed, confident decisions about one of their family’s biggest financial investments.
