Why The College Funding Coach
I’ve helped families build and grow college savings funds for years. Until I was introduced to The College Funding Coach, I didn’t realize just how much we can help families beyond putting money in a “college savings pot.”
Since then, I’ve dedicated my time to learning about the ins and outs of college funding. Each family is a new puzzle. They want to provide for their children, often at the expense of their golden years. My skills and experience allow me to help families fit the pieces together to fund college while protecting their retirement at the same time.
Area of Focus for College Funding Workshops: I am focused on supporting schools in Tennessee & Kentucky and eventually expanding college funding education to local sports organizations and businesses.
A Little More About Scott
Background: Prior to his financial planning journey, Scott was Director of Sales for a multi-national company covering South America, China, and Europe for two decades. With his travel schedule ever increasing, Scott began to feel disconnected and craved authentic personal connections outside of airports. Driven by the desire to be more present with his children and dive into his passion for financial planning, Scott leaped into the role of Financial Advisor.
In 2020, Scott met Chris Robinette, and Scott & Chris joined forces with a deeply rooted belief in comprehensive planning and a desire to build long-term relationships. Over the past three years, his focus has evolved to helping entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals reach their financial and success goals.
Professional Accomplishments: Scott’s greatest accomplishment is building a life and legacy for his wife and children. Beyond that, he is proud to have built his financial planning practice and continually seeks new ways to provide value to the families he supports.
Personal: Scott grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. After graduating from Clemson, Scott took some time to explore the world, living and traveling abroad for 6 months. He lived in the Northeast before settling in the Nashville area in 1997.
Family and faith are high priorities for Scott. He has been married to his beautiful wife Amie for 25 years. Amie and Scott have three incredible children: Blake, who plays baseball for Belmont University; Hudson, who currently plays baseball at Vanderbilt University; and Maclayne, who currently attends Grace Christian Academy in Franklin, TN.
Like most of his clients, Scott’s free time is spent with his family. Scott’s family is actively involved with their church, school, and community. He spends most of his free time at a baseball/softball field or basketball/volleyball court.
On the rare occasions when not with family, Scott loves to play golf.
Community Involvement: Scott has served as a Deacon for his church, coached baseball teams, and volunteered at school sporting events.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Clemson University
